Guarana is obtained from the seeds of Paullinia cupana, a spontaneous climbing shrub considered sacred by the Amazon Indians and used in all traditional South American culture. The fruits of this plant were used as an "elixir of life", also famous for their aphrodisiac properties, for their ability to protect against malaria, neuralgia, dysentery and to reduce menstrual pain. The Guarani Indians of the Amazon also used it to increase their strength and physical resistance during hunting. The seeds of this plant contain guaranine, a substance similar to caffeine, which promotes the release of the hormones adrenaline and noradrenaline (catecholamines), promoting their stimulating action. Since the 19th century, these seeds have reached Europe, becoming very popular in France in the form of a tonic-stimulating drink. This stimulating effect is given by the high concentration of caffeine in guarana compared to that contained in the coffee beans themselves: 3-8% against about 2% (therefore in some cases much more than double the concentration). Guaranine is also absorbed more gradually by the body, and allows us to benefit for a long time from its energizing effects on the body, without the risk of incurring particular peaks or disturbances. Guarana, together with methylxanthines such as caffeine, theobromine and theophylline, also contains numerous other bioactive substances: tannins, saponins and polyphenols such as atechins, epicatechins and proanthocyanins. A concentrate of beneficial substances for the body that allow guarana to gain potential tonic, analgesic, aphrodisiac, astringent, cardiotonic, diuretic, gastro-stimulant and antimicrobial activities. Furthermore, this substance has well-known thermogenic qualities, a property that has made it a frequently used food supplement in the modern era. What is Guaranà Liquid Guaranà Liquid is a food supplement, suitable for adult sportsmen, based on guarana, caffeine, magnesium and vitamins.
Vitamin B6, vitamin C, pantothenic acid (vitamin B5) and magnesium contribute to normal energy-yielding metabolism and to reduce the feeling of tiredness and fatigue*. Guarana also has a tonic action against both physical and mental tiredness. Guarana Liquid allows, thanks to its action on catecholamines, to increase body metabolism, heart rate, blood pressure and the number of breaths (thus increasing blood oxygenation). The use of Guaranà is in fact recommended in case of psychophysical fatigue and in convalescence, as a tonic and stimulant; in sports, guarana extracts are used to improve both physical and mental resistance to work, allowing the athlete to maintain greater concentration and a higher focus on the goal. In combination with caffeine, magnesium and vitamins, ours is a supplement with an energizing action, a true tonic-stimulant essential for increasing psychophysical performance in sportsmen, for improving focus and memory in students or for states of particular fatigue and psychophysical stress. It is also appreciated for its ability to promote weight loss and diuresis, for its lipolytic effect and for reducing the sense of hunger.
